Ladies and gentlemen! The Yaroslavl Region has always had great appeal
for people eager to do business and make money. Our people have long
been famous for their hospitality, business smartness, and their ability to
value the prospects of business cooperation. Their qualities which are esteemed nowadays are competence, well-considered approach, transparency in business relations and comfortable business environment.
Today’s Yaroslavl Region is an object of close attention for investors, a region
with good reputation. Its powerful industrial enterprises, high-tech and science intensive production facilities, active introduction of innovations, experienced human resources and strong management, developed transport and utility infrastructures, and rich historic and cultural heritage enable the Region to create and develop a business of virtually any profile.
The Yaroslavl Region has a history of successful implementation of large scale investment projects, with the leading Russian and foreign companies participating. The total capital investment in regional companies and enterprises exceeded $1,400 million in 2006, while the foreign investment accrued in the local economy for the last years have topped $470 million.
The largest implemented investment projects are the upgrade of the OAO Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez refinery ($700 million) and the development of enterprises and production facilities of such well-known international corporations as Kodak, Bertelsmann AG, Metro Group, etc. in the Region. In June the R&D Center of the DuPont–Russian Coatings joint venture has opened in the Region, to do research in the field of batch automotive paint and varnish production.
Another significant investment project being implemented in the Region is
the development and production of SaM146 engines to be installed on Russian Superjet-100 aircraft. The project is being realized in Rybinsk by OAO NPO Saturn (a leading Russian gas turbine engine producing company) in tandem with Snecma (Safran Group, France). The total investment in the project is some EUR 600 million.
The GAZ Group is investing EUR 200 million into the construction of a new
plant producing a new family of YaMZ-530 diesel engines compliant with Euro-4 in Yaroslavl. The Novoselki industrial park will be created near Yaroslavl in 2009 and 2010, to host the enterprises of Komatsu, Japan (assembly of excavators and fork lifts), IVC Group, Belgium (linoleum) and Astron Buildings, Luxembourg (metalware). These are but some examples of successful investment processes in the Yaroslavl Region.
Within the years to come, the Region will create several industrial parks,
with an opportunity for foreign investors to deploy their facilities. We are interested in creating high-tech promising facilities by leading international companies.
Now that the city of Yaroslavl is going to celebrate its 1000th anniversary
(2010), there is a unique opportunity to make paying investment in the Yaroslavl Region.
We are waiting for you!
