Russia: All Regions Trade and Investment Guide - a Project of the Council for Trade and Economic Cooperation (Russia - USA).

Among the great geographical diversity of Russian regions the Stavropol
Territory has a special location, being a crossroads of trade and economic cooperation between the regions of Russia’s South and an area of high business activity. The Territory borders eight out of the 13 regions of the Southern Federal District. It has had a well-developed transport and logistic infrastructure since the times of the Great Silk Road, which passed through the region. In fact the Territory continues to perform the function of the ancient route.
The Stavropol Territory is natural resource rich, with deposits of natural gas,
oil, rare earth metals, construction materials, and mineral water. The natural and climatic conditions of the Territory provided for well-developed agriculture. The Nature bestowed outstanding spa features on the land. The Stavropol Territory’s Kavkazskiye Mineralnye Vody is a spa resort of world renown that counts over 200 years of its history. The Territory has strong industry that includes about 400 large and medium enterprises. The most developed sectors are chemical industry, fuel industry, electricity supply, and machine engineering.
The last years have seen a growth of the Territory’s economy. For instance,
the average GRP growth has been 8.5% per year for the last six years against the average Russian gross domestic product of 6.3%. A whole host of
interesting and extensive investment projects are being realized, and the general investment climate has been getting “warmer” from year to year.
International investment forums have become traditional in the Stavropol
Territory. Investor support mechanisms are being improved here. New
extensive projects that are being created raise Territory’s investment appeal.
One of them started in 2007 is the creation of a special tourist and recreational
economic zone in the city of Kavkazskiye Mineralnye Vody.
We are sure that even the boldest plans will be implemented and the Territory will maintain its high development rate.
The Stavropol Territory is an area of cooperation open to those who like and are able to work. Welcome!
