Republic of Altai  £20
Alexander Berdnikov,
HEAD OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALTAI
VI Siberian Federal District
The Republic of Altai is a territory with unique natural and climatic characteristics and enjoys enormous biological and other resource potentials and invaluable cultural and historic heritage.

Situated in the very center of Eurasia, the Republic can be rightfully called a nature and culture reserve. It boasts numerous world heritage sites. The most significant of them are Mount Belukha (Uch Sumer), the highest mountain in the Asian part of Russia, Lake Teletskoye (Altyn Kel), Ukok Plateau, a site of an ancient civilization, as well as the Katun and Altai Nature Reserves. Two major Siberian rivers, the Katun River and the Biya River, rise in the mountains of the Republic of Altai.

The Altai Mountains enjoy a great abundance of minerals including precious
metal ores, mercury, tungsten, molybdenum, wollastonite, specularite, complex ore, and lignite. The Republic has a huge reserve of purest fresh water, extensive forests with valuable tree species, and various gifts of nature such as Siberian pine nuts, drug raw materials, game, fish, etc.

Rich and diverse flora and fauna of the Altai Mountains and its good environmental situation attract hundreds of thousands of tourists and primeval nature lovers from all over the world every year. Guests of the Republic are deeply impressed by its natural wonders and cultural and ethnic wealth, as well as its amazing people, who are industrious, good-natured, sincere, and hospitable.

The Republic’s advantageous geopolitical location and its rich natural resources offer wide possibilities for fruitful cooperation with Russian and foreign business partners. We are going to encourage any measures of domestic and foreign companies aimed at developing and expanding Republic’s trade links.

The Republic of Altai is a territory with tremendous investment appeal
and is dynamically developing and open for extensive mutually beneficial
business cooperation.
