Russia: All Regions Trade and Investment Guide - a Project of the Council for Trade and Economic Cooperation (Russia - USA).
Mikhail Kuznetsov,
GOVENOR OF THE PSKOV REGION

In the history of Russia, Pskov has always been more than just a frontier town.
It has also been known as a center of developed trade, crafts, and culture, a
member of the Hanseatic League and Russia’s gate to Western Europe.
Proximity to the Baltic Sea, the developed transport system linking the
city to St. Petersburg and Moscow, modern customs infrastructure, qualified
workforce, considerable industry resources, and rich cultural and historical
inheritance, all contribute to the sound economic potential of the Region.
Due to the expansion of the European Union, the Pskov Region bordering
Estonia and Latvia has become an entrance post for European companies coming to the Russian market.
This makes creation of favorable conditions for attracting investments to
the Region a priority for the regional Administration, as investments become a
key development factor for the Region’s economy. The Regional Administration is ready for active cooperation with potential investors. The local legislation is being corrected to create comfortable conditions for investors so that they feel themselves wanted in the Region. We would like investors to build new modern plants in our land up to world standards. We are ready to assist any investor. I am certain that our cooperation with both Russian and foreign partners is going to be well-directed, extensive and successful.
