Chuvashia is a Russian region with rapidly developing economics and social
sphere and a dynamically improving public utilities network. From year to year, the rates of industrial growth and investment growth remain higher than the average in Russia. Republic’s enterprises produce competitive products and successfully utilize innovative technologies. Active efforts are being made to introduce international quality standards in industry as well as in education,
heath care, and agriculture.
Chuvashia is the all-Russia leader in per capita housing construction. Natural
gas has been made available to the population throughout the Republic. A program for supplying high-quality water to the entire population is being systematically implemented. No later than in 2008, all communities of the
Republic will have access to the hard-paved road network. All of the above
guarantees that life in the Republic is comfortable and creates favorable condition for development of business in rural areas.
Large-scale projects that are underway in Chuvashia attract such active
players as Sberbank, OAO Russian Agricultural Bank, Vneshtorgbank, World Bank Group, and Raiffeisenbank.
The Republic of Chuvashia is recognized in the financial market as a reliable
and responsible partner, which is proven by expert evaluations and by the
fact that the World Bank has become a guarantor for the Republic’s financial
obligations. With the support of the World Bank Group, Chuvashia entered stock exchange with its government bonds. According to expert estimates, Chuvashia has the best government of all Russian regions, and boasts high-quality financial management and transparent budget. A research conducted by Standard & Poor’s shows that as far as the financial management is concerned, Chuvashia has remained in the top-ten list for five years running. And Moody’s describes Chuvashia as a region with an excellent solvency.
