Russia: All Regions Trade and Investment Guide - a Project of the Council for Trade and Economic Cooperation (Russia - USA).
Republic of Bashkortostan £20
Murtaza Rakhimov,
PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN

The multinational Republic of Bashkortostan is among the most stable and
dynamically developing regions of the Russian Federation. The Republic
is one of the few regions of Russia that transfer more to the federal funds
than they receive from the federal budget. Contributing greatly to the economic
development of the country, Bashkortostan is well known for its refinery,
petrochemical, chemical, metal, and machine engineering enterprises, as well as for its modern agroindustrial sector, construction and transport.
The Republic’s favorable geographic location in the heart of Eurasia, its
considerable natural resources, its powerful industrial, scientific, and technical
potentials, its developed transport infrastructure, and its state guarantees and
preferences for enterprise – all contribute to the favorable investment climate in the Republic. Bashkortostan has wide possibilities for partnerships in business,
science, education, and culture. Today, the Republic maintains trade relations
with 89 countries of the world, including all the European nations.
The Republic’s high investment appeal has been many times confirmed by
leading international and Russian rating agencies. The Republic has long-term credit standings with Moody’s and Standard&Poor’s.
The unique nature of the South Urals, unbelievably beautiful mountains
and steppes, taiga, and magnificent rivers and lakes, as well as the resort and spa system developed to world standards create excellent conditions for tourists.
I trust that the information in this Guide will assist a mutually beneficial
cooperation between our Republic and other regions of Russia and foreign partners.
Welcome to the hospitable Bashkortostan!
